Who We Are
Native Sustainability uses a network model to build project teams. We bring in the best of the best in the environmental field to ensure we have the unique combination of skills that will match our clients needs. Our core team includes:
Megan Dobratz, LEED AP
Principal / Owner
Megan has nearly two decades of experience working in the sustainability field. Her expertise includes resource management (waste, water and energy), corporate sustainability, and green building. Megan leverages her knowledge, relationships, and creativity to help clients make business choices that support their environmental and social commitments, profit motives, and human capital. She works to uncover the low-hanging fruit opportunities as well as the longer term potential for resource efficiency, positive social impact and an overall lighter environmental footprint.
She serves on the board of Voyageurs Conservancy - the official nonprofit partner for Voyageurs National Park.
Angie Trygg
Project Director
Angie Trygg is co-owner of the St. Paul event venue, PAIKKA, and has broad experience in business operations and management, event planning and design. In her role at Native Sustainability, Angie works closely with the Minnesota chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) to manage communications, assist in event planning and production and serve as administrative support for the board of directors. She also contributes to special projects for Native Sustainability that include grant writing, sustainable media production, communications and sustainability research for clients. Angie’s time spent studying art and architecture and overseeing commercial construction projects, as well as her experience with event production and business management are perfect complements to her commitment to prioritize thoughtfulness and sustainability in her work.

OUR VALUES
As a company and as individuals, we are deeply committed to anti-racism and acknowledging the intersectionality of environmental justice and sustainability work.
PEOPLE FIRST: Environmental progress is about preserving the places where people live, work, play and breathe every day; the environment is for ALL people, no matter geography, race, or socioeconomic situation. For businesses, it can be much more concrete. We understand customers and employees are the heart and soul of your work. We believe sustainability efforts can boost employee engagement, leverage employee retention, and attract and retain customers.
PROFIT TOO: Too many companies overlook their potential environmental efficiencies because they fear the cost of making change. Native Sustainability believes that your environmental improvements can and should support your business goals. We want to help you save money—and even generate new profits—as we help the planet.
PROGRESS ANY WAY: This is a no-judgement zone. Whether your goal is to demonstrate your commitment to social responsibility or you just want to identify cost-saving and efficiencies, your efforts have the same impact—they help the environment. We work with businesses no matter what their motivation, we celebrate the work you’re already doing, and we help you see the many ways your sustainability plan can benefit your company.
