Feeding America
Feeding America is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization. Their mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks, and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. It is estimated that 72 billion pounds of food go to waste each year, entering the landfill instead of ending up on the plates of those who need it. The Feeding America network works with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, food service companies and farmers to gather food and transport it to food banks before it goes to waste.

To source more meals and help end hunger in America, Feeding America has created MealConnect™, a technology platform that makes it easier than ever to connect donors with surplus food to their local Feeding America member food banks and their partners. MealConnect gives food donors a convenient, free and safe way to reduce waste & connect surplus meals with food insecure neighbors.
Using a simple app, food businesses can access an easy way to donate any leftover food that may go to waste. The MealConnect team is able to accommodate food donations from large retailers to small family-owned restaurants, and most places in between. Other benefits include donation guidelines, the ability to track donations, a tax benefit calculator, and an easy, sustainable partnership. Oh, and it’s completely free!
